Norwich Castle Projections

Norwich’s Norman Castle transformed

The Castle Projections create a stunning city-centre attraction, transforming the twelfth century palace with eye-catching illuminations. Supporting Norwich’s reputation as a city of light, the projector has been used to elevate key cultural events and causes.

Norwich BID invested in a high-quality laser projector for the city, so the castle can be lit up sustainably with an extraordinary impact. In the centre of the city, the Castle Projections attract large audiences, and brighten the cityscape in the dark hours.

Recent projections include a short animation celebrating Love Light Norwich that showed the timeless tale of two lovebirds who sing and trill in their golden cages, which was seen by more than 15,000 visitors. This Autumn falling poppies marked Armistice Day, whilst the Castle filled up with milk to highlight the issue of food waste in Norfolk.

The media interest, impact on the general public, and coverage of past projects demonstrates the captivation and awareness that can be achieved through clever, creative and highly visual projections. This is an exciting opportunity to reach audiences and attract their attention with a creative offering.

The unique nature of the Castle Projections offers fantastic PR opportunities for Norwich, and highlighted organisations. The Castle Projections raise the profile of city centre events, locally, nationally, and potentially internationally.

Norwich BID is keen to collaborate with organisations across Norwich, celebrating a multitude of events, and encouraging people to engage with all the city has to offer. We want to celebrate Norwich’s unique ethos and character, embracing the vibrancy of the city to create a memorable and magical experience to enhance the visitor experience.
