Following on from the previous Christmas spectaculars, Norwich BID once again invested in Christmas lighting throughout the city centre for 2018.
The Tunnel of Light returned, for its 3rd year, to Norwich to take centre stage in the Christmas festivities with brand new light sequences.
Comprised of 50,000 LED’s that reflect the patterns and colours of the Northern Lights, the 45-metre-long tunnel, situated on Hay Hill opposite The Forum, was the perfect back-drop for seasonal selfies.
Norwich's iconic Castle was transformed with awe-inspiring 70ft projections, adding to the Christmas magic. The projections ran from 4pm - 11pm. 16 November - 5 January and featured animated festive content – alongside the competition entries.
Brand new for 2018, Norwich BID spread festive cheer far, wide, and 70ft high!
We invited the public and businesses to submit their photos to become the face of Norwich for Christmas. Receiving over 200 photos, we shortlisted the entries before the public voted for their favourite festive animal, portrait and group shot. The overall winner of the Festive Faces competition was awarded to Momo and Kanye, the guinea pigs!
Each year, Norwich BID lights up the streets with twinkling lights. In 2018, the Christmas lights could be found on Gentleman’s Walk, London Street, Davey Place, Queen Street and many more spots inside the BID area.
