Love Light Labs

We’re opening the festival with Love Light Labs, a free day-time symposium which will explore opportunities to encourage social inclusion and a better-connected city for all. Powered by Aviva, we’ll shine a light on what Norwich and Norfolk organisations are doing to tackle loneliness and help bring us together.

In addition to this the main symposium, delegates are invited to choose between one of four interactive Labs:

LIGHT LAB
Hosted by Linn Clabburn, Cambridge Norwich Tech Corridor Programme Director, New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership. This Lab will showcase how businesses in the region are using light in innovative and vital ways to power positive social change and promote inclusion.

HEALTH LAB
What does ‘Arts for Health’ mean in 2020? Natalie Jode, Executive Director, Creative Arts East will be hosting. Creative Arts East recently won a prestigious Royal Society for Public Health award for their creative programme ‘Our Day Out’ which tackles rural isolation and loneliness in older people.

SHARING LAB
Marking the anniversary of Norwich becoming a ‘Sharing City’, this Lab will be hosted by Kate Price, Neighbourhoods and Community Enabling Manager, Norwich City Council, and will focus on how a commitment to ‘sharing’ narrows the gaps between communities and makes people feel more engaged.

DESIGN LAB
Hosted by Hilary Carlisle, The Dean of Design and Architecture, Norwich University of the Arts. This Lab will focus on ‘Design Thinking’ – and what is its relationship to placemaking in urban contexts? How can we use design to encourage inclusivity and reduce isolation?
