Coming in 2022: Free Training, Love Light Norwich & Sustainable Solutions

Norwich BID is ready to start 2022 off with a bang - the first quarter of the new year brings the launch of business support programme Onwards, the return of Love Light Norwich, and the next stage of Upcycle Your Waste.

Like all of our work, these new initiatives and returning projects are designed to boost businesses, and make the city thrive. The past two years have brought immense challenges for the city, and Norwich BID is proud to support Norwich throughout it all, and open the new year with projects designed to upskill businesses, drive footfall in the city centre, and encourage a transition to a more sustainable economy.

Developing a brighter future for the businesses and people of Norwich | Free training courses for Norwich SMEs

Onwards 2

Onwards Norwich (part of Onwards Norfolk), is an exciting new £592,000 project launched by Norwich BID, to boost local businesses with innovative training programmes and business support.

All Norwich SMEs can benefit from a wealth of free training opportunities. Onwards Norwich encompasses four key areas: Digital Skills Training, accredited Hospitality and Leisure Training, a Net Zero Waste Champions initiative set to reduce waste and business costs, plus a new Business Support Hub located at the Forum (opening February 2022).

Love Light Norwich

The bold and bright festival returns to the city Thursday 17 - Saturday 19 February, 5.30pm - 10pm. This fantastic free arts festival is a chance for Norwich to celebrate once again, and for local residents and visitors to enjoy amazing art for free. Taking place in the off-season, we expect visitor numbers to be between 20-25 thousand people.

This is a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to get involved, with opportunities across sectors. Consider extending opening hours across the festival to make the most of the extra footfall. Get staff involved by volunteering. Increase covers by participating in the City Food Trail, or benefit from a £100 grant to transform your window with a bright and beautiful display.

We'd love your support in spreading the word about Love Light Norwich - get in touch if you'd like some posters, maps, or are able to include details in your newsletters or staff intranet.

Upcycle Your Waste

We're ready to put our upcycling project into action. We've researched the waste that local businesses are producing, and now we want to matchmake waste producers with waste users, so we can start to create a circular economy in Norwich.
